AMAZON ADDS BUSINESS HOUR DELIVERY RATE TO ACCOUNT HEALTH – MARCH 2, 2026

Amazon has introduced a new performance metric called Business Hour Delivery Rate (BHDR). According to the official announcement, it is now visible inside the Account Health dashboard under the Eligibilities section. If you self-fulfill orders and sell to Amazon Business customers, this update directly affects you.

What Is Amazon's Business Hour Delivery Rate?

The Business Hour Delivery Rate measures how often your self-fulfilled orders are successfully delivered to Amazon Business customers during normal business hours. In simple terms, Amazon is checking whether your packages arrive when businesses are actually open.

If your delivery attempts happen after hours, packages may sit unattended, get lost, or require multiple delivery attempts. That creates a poor experience for business buyers. Amazon wants sellers to maintain a BHDR of at least 90%.

Why Does This Metric Matter For Sellers?

Amazon Business customers are different from regular consumers. They operate during fixed business hours. If deliveries fail repeatedly, those buyers may stop purchasing from you. A BHDR below 90% can lead to:

  • Unattended packages
  • Failed delivery attempts
  • Lost shipments
  • Reduced repeat orders from business buyers

This metric does not deactivate listings immediately, but it affects your program eligibility and long-term performance health.

Where To Find Your BHDR?

Go to: Account Health → Eligibilities → Download the Business Hour Delivery Rate report

The report shows which carriers are successfully delivering during business hours and which are causing missed deliveries.

How To Improve The Business Hour Delivery Rate?

Step 1: Download your BHDR report from the Eligibilities section.

Step 2: Identify carriers with a 90% or higher business-hour delivery rate.

Step 3: Use those carriers for future self-fulfilled Amazon Business orders.

For US sellers, Amazon recommends using UPS Ground, UPS Ground Saver, and FedEx Ground. These carriers typically perform better for weekday business deliveries.

How Do You Set Business Delivery Hours On Amazon?

Sellers cannot directly set business hours inside Seller Central. Delivery timing depends on the carrier you choose and the shipping service level. To improve performance:

  • Choose carriers known for weekday commercial deliveries
  • Avoid services that prioritize residential evening delivery
  • Use reliable ground services instead of slower or economy methods

The key factor is selecting the right carrier, not adjusting a setting inside Amazon.

Who Should Pay Attention To This Update?

High-volume self-fulfilled sellers: If you handle many Amazon Business orders, this metric directly affects your reputation with business buyers.

B2B-focused sellers: If you sell office supplies, industrial products, medical items, or wholesale quantities, your business customer base is likely high. BHDR becomes critical.

What Should Sellers Do Right Now?

  • Check your Account Health dashboard immediately
  • Download your BHDR report
  • Identify underperforming carriers
  • Adjust your shipping method for business orders.
  • Monitor this metric weekly going forward

What Counts As "Business Hours" For This Metric?

Standard working hours are typically Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM at the delivery address. Evenings, weekends, and public holidays do not count, and deliveries in those windows will pull your rate down.

This update is part of Amazon's continued focus on buyer experience for business customers. Sellers who maintain strong delivery performance will build trust and increase repeat purchases.

If you rely heavily on self-fulfillment and want help reviewing your overall Account Health performance, our Amazon account management expert can help you optimize before delivery issues affect your business growth.
