Amazon Live in AMC: Write a Measurement Plan Before You Pay a Creator
Amazon Live AMC reporting lets you query Live engagement and attributed shopping events with SQL or Amazon's query templates. It only helps if you decide, before the stream is booked, who counts as exposed, which window applies, what you are comparing against and how much lift pays back the creator fee. This guide gives you the one-page measurement plan, a $4,000 break-even example and the three traps that break Live measurement.

Short answer: Amazon Live AMC reporting (Amazon Live signals in Amazon Marketing Cloud) lets you query Live engagement and attributed shopping events with SQL or Amazon's query templates. They only help if you decide, before the stream is booked, who counts as exposed, which window applies, what you are comparing against and how much lift pays back the creator fee. Write that one-page plan first. Then pay.

Why the Plan Has to Come Before the Invoice
Most Amazon Live reviews start the same way. The stream ran, a creator was paid, someone opens a report and asks, "Did it work?"
By then every useful decision is already made. Nobody agreed what "worked" means, so any number can be argued into a win or a loss.
AMC makes this problem bigger, not smaller. It gives you event-level flexibility, and flexibility without a plan is how teams end up testing five definitions of success and reporting the best one.
The fix is boring and fast: a one-page measurement plan, signed off before money moves. The rest of this guide shows you what goes on it.

Book a Call TodayWhat Amazon Live Signals in AMC Actually Give You
Amazon announced Live signals in AMC in June 2025 and followed with a launch announcement on 30 September 2025. Before that, advertisers only had standardised post-campaign reports for their Live campaigns. Now you can query Live video engagement and attributed shopping events directly. Amazon's examples include path-to-conversion reporting, audience analysis and cross-channel measurement, and you can build custom audiences from Live engagement.
Amazon's own news post describes the data as impressions, views and clicks for live shopping campaigns. In practice that means you can finally put a Live campaign next to Sponsored Ads and DSP exposure in the same analysis, instead of reading it in isolation.
If you are new to AMC itself, start with our guide to what Amazon Marketing Cloud is and how it works in 2026. It covers clean-room basics, SQL workflows and access.
Who Can Use It
Per Amazon's launch announcement, you need all three of these:
- āAn AMC instance.
- āPaid, managed-service Amazon Live campaigns run in the US region after 1 May 2025.
- āYour Amazon Live advertiser linked to that AMC instance.
Amazon lists the United States as the only supported region at launch. Availability can change, so confirm your own account's eligibility in the Amazon Ads console before you book anything.

Book a Call TodayThe Catch: What AMC Can and Cannot See
This is the part that saves budgets. The eligibility rules above tell you what the Live dataset covers: paid, managed-service Amazon Live campaigns. They do not tell you that AMC will track every creator you pay.
So be explicit in the plan about which channel each dollar sits in.
| Where the creator works | Where you measure it |
|---|---|
| A paid, managed-service Amazon Live stream | AMC Live signals (if eligible and linked) |
| Off-Amazon posts (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) | Amazon Attribution tags |
| Creator Connections commission campaigns | Amazon's campaign reporting |
The last two use different clocks. We break down the 24-hour and 14-day windows on our Amazon influencer marketing page. The short version: never compare a number from one window with a number from another and call it a trend.

Book a Call TodayThe One-Page Measurement Plan
Copy this table into a doc, fill every row, and get one person to sign it. If a row is blank, the campaign is not ready.
| # | Plan row | What to write down | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Decision | What you will do with the result | "If lift pays back the fee, rebook. If not, cut Live and move the budget to Sponsored Brands video." |
| 2 | Eligibility | AMC instance, linked Live advertiser, US region, campaign type | "Checked 4 Nov, all three confirmed." |
| 3 | Exposure definition | Who counts as exposed: viewed, clicked, or both | "Exposed = any attributed Live view or click." |
| 4 | Outcome | The one event you are paying for | "Purchase of the hero ASIN." |
| 5 | Window | Lookback after exposure, fixed in advance | "14 days after first exposure." |
| 6 | Comparison group | Who you compare exposed shoppers against | "Unexposed shoppers in the same audience." |
| 7 | Overlap rule | How you stop Live, Sponsored Ads and DSP claiming the same sale | "Report Live-only, Live + other, and other-only separately." |
| 8 | Break-even | Incremental orders the fee must produce | See the worked example below. |
| 9 | Readout | Date, owner and format | "Day 21, performance lead, one-page summary." |
We keep the window and the break-even row fixed on purpose. Moving them after you see the data is the quickest way to make a weak campaign look strong.

Book a Call TodayWorked Example: A $4,000 Creator Fee
These numbers are illustrative, not benchmarks. Swap in your own.
- āCreator fee: $4,000.
- āContribution margin per order (price minus product cost, Amazon fees, shipping): $14.
- āBreak-even: $4,000 Ć· $14 = about 286 incremental orders.
- āExposed audience: 20,000 shoppers.
- āLift needed: 286 Ć· 20,000 = about 1.43 percentage points over the comparison group.
| Exposed vs comparison purchase rate | Incremental orders | Contribution | Result vs $4,000 fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| +0.5 pt | 100 | $1,400 | ā$2,600 |
| +1.0 pt | 200 | $2,800 | ā$1,200 |
| +1.43 pt | about 286 | about $4,000 | Break-even |
| +2.0 pt | 400 | $5,600 | +$1,600 |
Look at the second row. A campaign can double a shopper's purchase rate (say 1% to 2%) and still lose money. Without the plan, that gets reported as "Live doubled conversion." With the plan, you already knew the bar was 1.43 points.
This example ignores repeat purchases and brand halo. If you want to count them, write the assumed value into the plan before the campaign starts, not after.

Book a Call TodayThree Traps That Break Live Measurement
Trap 1: Counting the Same Sale Twice
Live, Sponsored Ads and DSP can all touch one shopper. If you add their reported sales together, the total can beat Seller Central and nobody will trust it. Fix the grain and the join order before you combine anything. Our report grain audit walks through it step by step.
Trap 2: Reading Suppressed Rows as Zeros
AMC returns aggregated, anonymous output, and rows built on too few shoppers are removed. The removal is silent: a suppressed row looks exactly like a row where nobody did anything. If your Live audience is small, slice it more coarsely (by week instead of day, or by campaign instead of creator). Do not look for ways around the threshold. See our guide to diagnosing AMC privacy suppression.
Trap 3: Changing the Window After the Fact
If the 14-day result looks poor and the 30-day result looks better, it is tempting to switch. Do not. A window picked after seeing outcomes is a story, not a measurement.

Book a Call TodayPre-Flight Checklist
Run through this the week before the stream.
ā AMC instance active and your user has access. ā Live advertiser linked to the instance. ā Campaign is a paid, managed-service Live campaign in the US region. ā Naming convention agreed so creator, product and date can be separated in the data. ā Exposure, outcome, window and comparison group written down. ā Break-even order count calculated from real margin. ā Overlap rule agreed with whoever runs Sponsored Ads and DSP. ā Readout date and owner set. ā Creator disclosure requirements covered in the brief. The FTC's guidance on endorsements is a good baseline.
After the Stream: How to Read It
Open the plan, not the dashboard. Run the pre-agreed queries, note any suppressed rows, and compare against the break-even number. Then do exactly what row 1 said you would do.

Amazon Live in AMC gives you better questions to ask. It does not choose them for you. Write the plan, fix the window, work out the break-even, and only then pay the creator.
