30 Prompt Templates for Amazon's Agentic Seller Tool to Improve Listings & Descriptions (2026)
Most prompt lists for Amazon sellers are written for ChatGPT and then relabelled. They assume you can type anything and the tool will obey. Amazon's tools do not work like that. Seller Assistant can see your sales, traffic, reviews and account health, so it rewards questions about your ASINs. Enhance My Listing has no prompt box at all; it reads your listing and offers suggestions you accept, edit or decline.
So every prompt template here is tagged with the tool it belongs in, and the 2026 rules are already inside the wording: the 75-character title limit, the new Item Highlights field, Premium A+ for every brand owner, and the tag Amazon now requires on images with AI-generated people. If you draft in ChatGPT instead, our ChatGPT prompts for Amazon listings cover that workflow; this guide is the Amazon-native half.
TL;DR
- Four tools, one label. A routing table below tells you which prompt goes where.
- Seller Assistant sees your data. Ask it about your ASINs, your reviews and your search terms, not for generic copy.
- Enhance My Listing suggests; you decide. Never bulk-accept without the checklist in the last section.
- Since 27 July 2026, titles are capped at 75 characters with a 125-character Item Highlights field. Premium A+ is on for every brand owner. Images with AI-generated people need the
contains-synthetic-performertag. - Shoppers now ask Alexa for Shopping, which replaced Rufus in May 2026. Two prompts make your listing answer-ready.
Which Amazon AI tool should I prompt for my listing?
Before you copy a single prompt, it helps to know that Amazon's AI tools split into two kinds. Two of them take natural-language prompts. Two of them take inputs, meaning the product facts you give them, and then offer suggestions. Mixing the two up is the main reason sellers say "the AI ignored me".
| Tool | Where you find it | What it does for listings | What it does not do (as of publication) | Prompts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Seller Assistant (SA) | Chat icon in Seller Central; canvas view in the US and UK | Answers questions about your account, analyses sales, traffic, reviews and health, proposes actions and carries out the ones you approve | Amazon has not documented it as a free-form copywriter. Copy changes go through listing tools you approve | 1β6, 28β30 |
| Enhance My Listing (EML) | Manage All Inventory β Edit Listing β Product Details β Enhance My Listing | Suggests new titles, attributes, descriptions and missing details for an existing ASIN | Takes no typed instruction; sometimes returns "no enhancements available" | 7β11 |
| Gen-AI listing builder (LB) | Add Products: describe the product, upload one image or paste a URL; bulk via spreadsheet | Drafts a new listing and its attributes | Does not know your keyword priorities unless they are in what you feed it | 12β15 |
| A+ and Creative Studio (A+) | A+ Content Manager (Premium A+ now default for brand owners); Creative Studio in Amazon Ads | Generates module copy, comparison content, images and video from product data and prompts | Will not check your claims or tag AI-generated people for you | 16β27 |
Prompt or input? The distinction that saves you an afternoon
- Seller Assistant and Creative Studio take sentences. You can ask, follow up and refine.
- Enhance My Listing and the listing builder take facts. Your "prompt" is the product description, brand details and keywords you put in the fields, plus the edits you make before you click Accept.
What Amazon says about how sellers use these tools
Amazon reports that sellers accept Seller Assistant's recommendations nearly 90% of the time, and accept Gen-AI listing content with little or no editing about 90% of the time. Those are Amazon's numbers, and they are the reason this guide ends with a checklist rather than a cheer. A tool that is usually right is exactly the tool people stop reading.
What should I ask Amazon Seller Assistant first?
Seller Assistant is the one tool in this list that already knows your business. Amazon built it on Amazon Bedrock, using Amazon Nova and Anthropic's Claude models, and gave it the ability to reason, plan and act with your permission. That means the best prompts for Amazon Seller Assistant are diagnostic. Ask it what is wrong before you ask anything to be rewritten.
"I had no idea it could do all of this; it even understands sales velocity."Alfred Mai, founder of ASM Games, quoted in Amazon's Seller Assistant announcement, September 2025
Each prompt below uses square brackets for the parts you replace. Paste it, swap the variables, and read the answer before you act on it.
Listing health triage
Seller AssistantAcross my active ASINs, which ten listings have the lowest unit session percentage relative to their sessions over the last 30 days? For each one, show me the title length in characters, the number of bullet points, whether A+ content is live, and whether the title is over 75 characters.
Title-rule exposure
Seller AssistantWhich of my titles are over 75 characters or contain promotional words such as best, top-rated or sale? For each, show the current title next to a compliant version, and tell me which details you would move into the Item Highlights field.
Search-term to copy gap
Seller AssistantUsing Search Query Performance for [ASIN], list the top 15 search queries where I get impressions but below-average clicks or purchases. Tell me which words in those queries are missing from my title, bullets, description and Item Highlights.
Review and question mining
Seller AssistantSummarise the last 90 days of reviews and customer questions for [ASIN]. Give me the five most praised attributes, the five most common complaints, and the exact phrases customers use for each. Suggest which bullet point each phrase should influence.
Attribute completeness
Seller AssistantWhich required or recommended attributes are missing or inconsistent across my [category] listings? Flag the ones that affect search filters or the answers Alexa for Shopping can give about my products.
Approval-gated action plan
Seller AssistantCreate a prioritised plan to improve my five weakest listings. For each, name the single highest-impact change, the tool I should make it in, and the effect you expect. Do not change anything. Wait for my approval on each step.
How do I get better results from Enhance My Listing?
Enhance My Listing is Amazon's AI tool for listings you already have. You reach it through Manage All Inventory β Edit Listing β the Product Details tab β Enhance My Listing. It reads your listing, looks at shopping data and seasonal trends, and suggests new titles, attributes, descriptions and missing details. You review, customise or decline each one.
There is no box to type instructions into. That surprises people, so it is worth saying plainly: you steer Enhance My Listing with what you feed it, not with what you tell it. The prompts in this section are therefore a source-brief template you fill in first, and four Seller Assistant prompts you use to audit what EML proposes.
Source brief (fill this in before you run EML)
Enhance My ListingBrand: [brand] Exact product name: [name as on packaging] Materials and construction: [materials] Dimensions and pack count: [dimensions], [count] Three things that make it different: [1], [2], [3] Three objections buyers raise: [1], [2], [3] Five priority keywords, most important first: [k1], [k2], [k3], [k4], [k5] Words my category forbids or restricts: [list] Certifications I can document: [list]
Suggestion audit
Seller AssistantCompare the title, bullets and description that Enhance My Listing proposed for [ASIN] with my current listing. Flag any new claim that is not in my source brief, any keyword that was dropped, any change to the brand name, any character-limit breach and any attribute that would be left blank.
Keyword retention check
Seller AssistantList every keyword in my current listing for [ASIN] that is missing from the Enhance My Listing suggestion. For each, tell me whether it has impressions in Search Query Performance over the last 90 days.
Seasonal refresh guardrail
Seller AssistantPropose a fourth-quarter version of the description for [ASIN] that adds gifting context. Keep every product fact, material and claim unchanged. Mark each sentence you altered so I can review only those.
Bulk consistency
Seller AssistantFor the six child ASINs under [parent ASIN], show me where the Enhance My Listing suggestions differ in tone, capitalisation or the names used for the same feature. Give me one harmonised set of bullets I can apply across all six.
How do I write titles under 75 characters with AI?
Seventy-five characters is shorter than this sentence. That is the space you now have to tell a shopper what the product is, and it is the reason the old habit of packing five keywords into a title no longer works.
These prompts work in the Gen-AI listing builder for new products and in Seller Assistant for existing ones. Each one enforces the limit so you never have to count.
75-character title builder
Listing builder / SAWrite three title options for [product]. Order: brand, product type, primary keyword [keyword], then one differentiator [differentiator]. Maximum 75 characters including spaces. Show the character count after each option. No promotional words, no competitor brand names, no repeated words.
Title and Item Highlights split
Listing builder / SAHere is my current title: [paste]. Split it into a title of 75 characters or fewer and an Item Highlights entry of 125 characters or fewer. Move materials, use cases and comparison terms into Item Highlights. Return both with character counts.
Variation-safe titles
Listing builder / SAWrite titles for the parent and each child of [parent ASIN]. Keep the first 60 characters identical across the family and put the size or colour last. Every title must be 75 characters or fewer.
Title compliance pass
Seller AssistantCheck this title against the style guide for [category]: [paste title]. Report capitalisation errors, disallowed symbols, prohibited or promotional words, and repeated words. Return a corrected version if anything fails.
What prompts write bullet points that convert?
Good bullets answer the question a shopper is silently asking. The four prompts below each take a different question as their starting point, and prompt 17 is written for the way shoppers now ask Alexa for Shopping in plain sentences.
Objection-first bullets
Listing builder / SAWrite five bullet points for [product]. Open each with the benefit that answers one of these objections: [objection 1], [objection 2], [objection 3], [objection 4], [objection 5]. Keep each under 200 characters. One fact per bullet. No sentence in capitals.
Question-and-answer bullets
Listing builder / SARewrite the bullets for [ASIN] so each one directly answers one question a shopper would ask Alexa for Shopping about this type of product. Use these queries as the questions: [paste queries from prompt 3]. One clear answer per bullet, no filler.
Spec-to-benefit bullets
Listing builder / SATurn these specifications into five bullets in the pattern "SPEC: what it means for you": [paste specs]. Keep the language plain enough for someone who does not know the category.
Compliance-locked bullets
Seller AssistantRewrite these bullets for [ASIN] with no health, safety or superlative claims that I cannot document: [paste bullets]. Where I have a certification, cite it exactly as it appears on the certificate: [list certifications]. Flag any sentence you had to remove and say why.
Listings written from your facts, not from adjectives
GrowithAmazon's listing team builds the source brief, runs the audit prompts and writes copy that survives Amazon's compliance checks and the 75-character rule.
Can Amazon's AI write my description and A+ content?
Yes, and it does it better when you give it a plan. The A+ generator will happily produce seven modules of pleasant nothing. These prompts ask for structure first, copy second, and they keep competitor brands out of comparison charts because Amazon's A+ rules do. If you are new to the module types, start with our guide on how to create Amazon A+ content.
Description for sellers without Brand Registry
Listing builder / SAWrite a 150 to 250 word product description for [product] in this order: the problem it solves, the proof it works, two or three real use cases, and care or setup notes. Plain text, short paragraphs, no claims outside my source brief.
Premium A+ module plan
A+ builderPlan a Premium A+ page for [product] with five to seven modules: a hero banner, a comparison chart of my own variations, a Q&A module, a specifications module and at least one lifestyle module. For each module give a headline, body copy within the module's character limit, and the image needed. Tell me which choices improve the Content Quality Analysis score.
Comparison-chart module
A+ builderCreate a comparison chart for these products of mine only: [list your ASINs or bundles]. Use four to six rows of attributes shoppers filter on, such as size, capacity, material and what is included. No competitor brands. Short cell text.
Q&A module from real questions
A+ builderTurn these eight customer questions into a Q&A module: [paste questions from prompt 4]. Each answer is two sentences at most, factual, and uses the customer's own words where they are accurate.
Brand-story module
A+ builderWrite a 90-word brand story for [brand] built only from these three facts: [fact 1], [fact 2], [fact 3]. No founding myths, no words like passion or journey, and nothing I cannot prove.
What prompts work for listing images and A+ visuals?
Images are where AI saves the most time and creates the most risk. A generated lifestyle scene takes seconds. A generated person in that scene now comes with a legal label. Keep both facts in mind as you use the three prompts below.
contains-synthetic-performer in the XMP dc:subject field before upload, for listings and A+ content in every store. Amazon adds a shopper-facing indicator where applicable. The tag is not needed for real people edited with AI, for fictional characters, or for images with no people. The requirement follows New York's synthetic-performer disclosure law, which took effect on 9 June 2026.The simplest way to stay clear of the rule is to generate scenes without people, or to put a real model in front of an AI-generated background. The three prompts below are written that way.
Lifestyle image brief
A+ / Creative StudioDescribe a lifestyle image for [product] that shows [use case] in [setting]. The product must match its real colour, size and finish. No people. Natural light, uncluttered background, space on the right for text.
Infographic callouts
A+ / Creative StudioWrite six callouts of five words or fewer for an infographic image of [product]. Draw every callout from these bullets only: [paste bullets]. No new claims.
A+ banner captions
A+ / Creative StudioWrite five captions of twelve words or fewer for A+ banner images of [product]. Each caption includes one natural variant of [primary keyword] and describes something visible in the image.
How do I get my listing picked by Alexa for Shopping?
You cannot pay to be the answer, and you cannot prompt Alexa for Shopping yourself. What you can do is make sure your listing contains the answer to the questions shoppers actually ask. Seller Assistant is the right place to find out whether it does.
Shopper-question coverage
Seller AssistantList the ten questions a shopper is most likely to ask Alexa for Shopping about [product type]. For each, tell me whether my listing for [ASIN] answers it, where it answers it, and if it does not, write the one sentence that would.
Comparison readiness
Seller AssistantIf a shopper asks which of my variations under [parent ASIN] is better for [use case], what facts would an assistant find in my listing to answer, and which facts are missing? List the gaps by field.
What should I check before I accept AI changes?
Every tool in this guide ends with the same button. The last prompt is the one to run before you press it, and the checklist under it is for the day the prompt is not enough.
Acceptance audit
Seller AssistantBefore I accept these changes to [ASIN], check each item and return pass or fail: every claim appears in my source brief; no keyword with impressions in Search Query Performance was removed; the title is 75 characters or fewer; Item Highlights is 125 characters or fewer; the brand name is unchanged; no attribute is left blank; no image contains an untagged AI-generated person; no prohibited or promotional words remain.
| Check | What you are looking for |
|---|---|
| Claims | Nothing new that you cannot document |
| Keywords | No term with impressions removed; nothing stuffed back in |
| Character limits | Title β€ 75, Item Highlights β€ 125, bullets within category guidance |
| Brand | Brand name and capitalisation unchanged |
| Attributes | No field blanked; units and values still correct |
| Variations | Child titles still consistent with the parent |
| Images | Product true to life; AI people tagged |
| Compliance | No prohibited, promotional or medical words |
| Pricing and promo language | No "sale", "discount" or price mentions in copy |
| Snapshot | Dated copy of the old version saved before you click |
What mistakes do sellers make with Amazon's AI tools?
Every mistake below comes from the same root: trusting the tool to know things it cannot know. Here are the five we see most often, in the order they usually happen.
- Treating Enhance My Listing like a chatbot. It has no prompt box. Improve the input, then audit the output.
- Testing on hero ASINs first. Learn the tool's habits on a listing that can afford a bad week.
- Letting a tool re-stuff the title. The 75-character rule pushed words out for a reason. Put them in Item Highlights, not back in the title.
- Uploading AI-generated models without the tag. The
contains-synthetic-performerkeyword goes in the file before upload, not after a warning. - Forgetting the Agent Policy. Third-party AI tools that act on your account fall under Amazon's Business Solutions Agreement. Our note on the Amazon Agent Policy explains what that covers.
How can GrowithAmazon help you use these prompts?
Amazon's tools draft. Someone still has to decide, and on a catalogue of a few hundred ASINs that decision is the whole job. GrowithAmazon's listing team writes the source briefs, runs the audit and acceptance prompts on every suggestion, keeps a version history so a bad accept can be undone in minutes, and writes the A+ modules that a generator cannot substantiate on its own.
For brands that want that handled end to end, our A+ content writing service and product listing service cover the copy, the compliance checks and the 75-character rewrites. As an amazon agency that manages Seller Central every day, we have watched these tools save sellers hours a week, and we have also watched one unchecked accept remove the keyword a listing lived on. The checklist above is how we avoid the second outcome.
Conclusion
Prompt the tool that can see your data. Feed it facts. Read before you accept. The three rules behind all 30 templates
Amazon's agentic seller tool is not one tool, and the prompts that work for it are not the ones written for ChatGPT. Know which tool you are prompting. Feed it facts, not adjectives. Audit before you accept. Do those three things and the 30 templates above turn Seller Assistant, Enhance My Listing and the A+ builder into a listing team that works at your pace.
If you draft outside Amazon first, the ChatGPT prompts for Amazon listings are the companion piece. And if you want to understand where those listings are now being read, start with how Alexa for Shopping recommends products.
FAQs
Does Amazon have its own AI tool to write and improve listings?
Yes. Inside Seller Central you have Seller Assistant, an agentic chat that answers questions about your account and takes actions with your permission; Enhance My Listing, which suggests changes to existing listings; a Gen-AI listing builder that drafts new listings from a short description, one image or a website URL; and AI-assisted A+ content. Amazon offers them at no extra cost, with the US store first.
Can I type prompts into Enhance My Listing?
There is no free-text prompt box. Enhance My Listing reads your listing and suggests new titles, attributes, descriptions and missing details, which you accept, edit or decline. You steer it through the source content you give it and the edits you make before accepting. For open questions, use Seller Assistant.
Will Amazon's AI overwrite my title or attributes?
Only what you accept, with one exception. Since 27 July 2026 titles longer than 75 characters are gradually rewritten by Amazon's AI to fit the new limit. Brand owners have reported a review window for those changes in Seller Central. Everything else from Enhance My Listing or Seller Assistant waits for your approval.
Do these prompts account for the 75-character title rule and Item Highlights?
Yes. Every title prompt enforces the 75-character limit and moves materials, use cases and comparison terms into the 125-character Item Highlights field, which Amazon says is searchable and shown under the title.
Should I still use ChatGPT if I use Amazon's tools?
They do different jobs. Amazon's tools can see your sales, traffic, reviews and attributes, and they publish changes with your approval. ChatGPT is a drafting scratchpad that knows nothing about your account. Many sellers draft in ChatGPT and then use Seller Assistant to check the draft against real data before publishing.
